Vera's Iron and Vine, my retail store, opened in 2018, and in 2020, I began renovating a former fiddlehead cannery in Wilton, Maine, transforming it into my creative space, now called Belle Creative arts. Here, I craft and assemble mixed media, found object art, refined artisan jewelry, pottery, and one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll often find me in my overalls, happily chatting with anyone who comes to visit!

About the event
In this beginner class for Adults 18+ you will learn tapering the metal, scrolls, basic tools, and simple techniques of drawing out, forging square to round and vice-versa, metal working, points, bends and twists.
Students will make decorative fire pokers and s hooks which you can finish and use at home.
The beginners basic classes are designed to give everyone the same understanding of the basic techniques.
The basic class is required before taking many other classes I offer, including drop in forging. This enables those classes and opportunities to concentrate on more advanced techniques without having to spend time on basic concepts.
