About the event

This four-session course will introduce students to Sgraffito, a decoration technique for leatherhard ceramics, and is ideal for beginners & intermediate ceramicists looking to refresh and expand handbuilding methods taught in the intro classes.

SGRAFFITO is a technique of ceramic decoration that involves carving through a layer of colored underglaze to reveal the contrasting clay color below. Students must purchase their own clay. Glazes and underglazes will be provided.

Some thoughts that you may want to include or just use this as a planning space:

Students will begin with creating a tile or plate with sgraffito decoration.

The class will cover storage of work in progress and methods of maintenance for a clean and functional communal workspace.

Room for 8 Registrants:

Clay not included and must be purchased from studio $35 bag

This class welcomes kids 12 and up. I have classes geared towards younger ones and parent/child coming up.
