The circle represents that at the root of all things is emptiness.  Emptiness does not mean nothing. It means releasing attachment to your perceptions and ideas and experiencing reality with an open mind is the key to enlightenment. 
The circle represents seeing reality as it really is, not what you believe or anticipate it to be. There are imitless potentials of what life can be, as is the nature of a circle.
