A reclaimed oak cattle milking station has been given a second life—transformed into a sculptural wine rack that holds both function and memory in equal measure.
The original weathered oak, shaped by years of rural use, still carries its quiet history in every grain and softened edge. Within it, a hand-forged iron spiral winds gracefully, cradling each bottle with an organic strength that feels almost vine-like—rooted, intentional, and alive.
A welded reclaimed steel inner frame anchors the piece, adding structure and contrast while honoring its industrial past. The blend of materials creates a dialogue between farm, forge, and function—where nothing is wasted, and everything is reimagined.
This is not simply storage for wine, but a standing relic of transformation: raw materials refined into something sculptural, enduring, and deeply human.

Vera's Iron and Vine, my retail store, opened in 2018, and in 2020, I began renovating a former fiddlehead cannery in Wilton, Maine, transforming it into my creative space, now called Belle Creative arts. Here, I craft and assemble mixed media, found object art, refined artisan jewelry, pottery, and one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll often find me in my overalls, happily chatting with anyone who comes to visit!
