The proverbial "golden handcuffs" hold us back from our dreams.
What are the "golden handcuffs" you ask...
They are the events, jobs and many things that distract us from going forward towards our goals... because the $ is just too good. Like stripping or fishing. I know many folks who had dreams to do whatever...
yet took a job to make $ and just couldn't leave to pursue their dreams. They wear the "golden handcuffs" Get it?
We have choices. Life continues to present us with opportunity to learn about ourselves and the world around us. I'm continually met with challenges to grow that seem larger than life itself. I want to run and hide.
Shiny, sparkly opportunities that distract me.
I know it's a process and not a race.
Darkness can be scary and deeply illuminating.
The boogeyman in the dark is ME.
The unknown is where I shine the light with hesitation and reservation to what I might discover. It is NOT ALWAYS PRETTY!
Embracing the challenge is an investment in my own dreams. Flowing with the current, not swimming against it.
As the seed becomes a sprout, then a plant, flowers and finally fruits...
Becoming.
....fully it's original purpose....
How many times have I gotten off track, only to be guided back?
Sometimes a gentle nudge, sometimes a big push
Always otherworldly
A power much much greater than myself.
I'm a seed, becoming
And I have dreams
